In Iraq, “Emo” style clothing and styling are widely perceived as being gay. As a staunchly conservative country, the Iraqi government have declared certain elements of emo style as being satanic and evil. Over the past few months, as many as 60 Iraqis who were believed to be gay have been killed by military men who smashed their skulls with cement.
