The models aren’t the only ones on display. Celebs are out and about feting fashion and raising money for great causes. For the amfAR gala – held at Cipriani – the glitterati were out in full effect. A lot of great looks and smart choices, but here are my three favorites:

Sarah Jessica Parker reminds us why we love her (and Carrie Bradshaw) with pink, romantic crepe Oscar de la Renta. But what truly made the look a show stopper was the addition of a motocross jacket and statement necklace. Remember – it’s the unexpected combo that keeps them talking long after you’ve left the room.

Janelle Monae is a girl after my own heart in her white tuxedo jacket. She has the aura of a different time and era – classic tailoring and a reworking of menswear that’s bold and distinctive to her.

Rose Byrne was ladylike and refined in a lacy Jacquard McQueen.
